Retirement beckons and Vernon has visions of slippers and seed cake, a little light gardening and long, lazy days in Brid.
But Bren has other ideas, which seem to include white-water rafting and tantric sex.
Just think. You’re free from work and responsibility; at liberty to pursue the excitements if the Third Age. So is it the first day of the rest of your life? Or the end of peaceful co-existence?
And everyone’s nightmare may be gradually turning into their mam or dad – but you’ve never quite seen it like this.
Specially written for Ringwood Hall Dinner Theatre in Brimington, Chesterfield, Bobbles & Bowls had its première on Sunday 29th January 2006 with Alan Meadows and Sheila Young in the cast.
